For me, without question.
During the decade between 1971’s Hunky Dory and 1980’s Scary Monsters he was both highly prolific and incredibly creative. There has never been such a wide variety of sounds, styles and fashions explored with such vigour, such elan and such expertise by one artist.

Whether creating and destroying mythical rock stars, turning his hand to R and B, experimenting with video or starring in art-house movies like The Man Who Fell To Earth, nobody could touch David Bowie.
